Embroidery

If you keep your pieces quite small which most projects are as embroidery can be fairly time consuming the various colour threads often fit neatly on bobbins organised into small storage containers. The other items needed such as needles and snips are also fairly small and the hoops used come in a range of sizes so you will be able to find a hoop that fits in the limited space you have. All in all embroidery is generally a hobby that will fit in a reasonably sized box in your closet or take up no more space than a spare drawer.

Macramé Bracelets

Like embroidery everything you need for this craft will fit into small organiser boxes. You'll need wax cord that come in similar skeins to embroidery thread, fixtures such as clasps and extension chains both of which can come in or be stored in mini organisers and if you want to add beads or charms these will be small too and once again will be kept in little organiser boxes. If you love micro organisation or don't have much space for craft supplies this is a top tier craft.

Sock Knitting

Everything about knitting socks is just smaller than other knitting projects, the needles used are usually much smaller in diameter and depending on which sock knitting method you pick can be much shorter than other forms of knitting. Socks generally don't need much yarn and the finished project is also generally small. You could expand this to knitting gloves and mittens too. If you love knitting but are low on space socks are the way to go!

Micro and Nano Crochet

If you have more patience than you have space you may want to look into mini crochet. Using either very fine cotton yarn or even embroidery or sewing thread you can make some really cool projects such as teeny tiny amigurumi or very fine doilies. If you are looking for a small space craft it doesn't get much smaller than this.

Drop Spindle Spinning

If you've ever wanted to make your own yarn but don't have the space for a spinning wheel a drop spindle could be the solution for you. A drop spindle is a wooden tool that you can you use to spin prepared fibre (usually wool) into yarn. You could also look at a compact electric spinner if you enjoy the process.
